Subjective and objective reasons for the danger of using gantry cranes

Gantry cranes are often used in daily life to transfer heavy loads and are a heavyweight piece of equipment. Gantry crane refers to the multi-action lifting machinery that vertically lifts and horizontally handles heavy objects within a certain range, and the trajectory is on the ground. Some operating characteristics of lifting equipment are intermittent movement, that is, the corresponding mechanism replacement operations such as lifting, transporting, and unloading during the operation cycle. The application of gantry cranes in the market is more and more extensive. The gantry crane itself will also have some accidents. Next, I will introduce the causes and preventive measures of the gantry crane accident.

1. Subjective reasons for the accident.

(1) The driver has insufficient working experience and is numb. After installing the gantry crane, blindly lifting, it is impossible to carefully check and evaluate the weight of the lifting object.

(2) The driver operated the crane illegally, did not strictly abide by the provisions of the gantry crane operation manual, and operated the crane, causing an accident.

(3) The vehicle handling department lacks handling, and no special person is arranged to conduct on-site command during the hoisting operation.

2. The objective reasons for the incident.

(1) The gantry crane has no torque limiter device, which cannot provide the driver with precise technical parameters to prevent such incidents.

(2) The gantry crane has not been regularly maintained and protected, and the protective measures have potential safety hazards.

3. Preventive measures.

(1) Strengthen the education of operating procedures for drivers, so that they can master the relevant technologies proficiently.

(2) Strictly abide by the requirements of laws and regulations such as the "Special Equipment.. Supervision Regulations", the driver needs to hold a certificate, and regularly inspect and supervise the vehicle.

(3) For special on-site operation items, the hoisting unit shall conduct specific investigation and certification, formulate a specific operation plan, and arrange for full-time personnel to conduct on-site command.

(4) Install the required safety protection devices on the crane to fundamentally eliminate various safety hazards.

(5) When selecting a hoisting site, it is necessary to select a flat and hard open site without softness, subsidence, sewer manhole cover, etc.

(6) Protect the crane in a complete state, especially frequently check the main boom, leg cylinder, support pad, luffing cylinder and other components for cracks, oil leakage, etc.

(7) Before hoisting, the driver needs to clarify the weight of each hoisting object, and blind hoisting is strictly prohibited.
